Shoshana grew up in suburban Southern California, earning a degree in Finance and Economics and launching a career in corporate treasury management. But in her heart, she felt called to something more.
After marrying a Ugandan Jew, Shoshana made a life-changing decision: in 2018 she moved to rural Uganda—and by 2021, she and her husband were living full-time in Mbale. There, immersed in the Abayudaya Jewish community, she saw firsthand the daily challenges facing women and disabled children. Determined to effect lasting change, she founded Tikvah Chadasha Uganda—“New Hope Uganda”—to tackle poverty through dignity, not just charity
